Our job is to help pet owners understand costs. This page explains how we work and how we stay independent.
Independence. Vet Cost Guide is not owned by or affiliated with any veterinary group, insurer, comparison site or pharmacy. No advertiser, affiliate partner or commercial relationship influences what we publish, the prices we report or the conclusions we reach.
How we make money. The site carries display advertising, served by third-party advertising networks. Some links to products or services may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Advertising and affiliate relationships have no effect on our editorial decisions, and we do not accept payment for reviews, rankings or coverage.
How we research. Every price guide is based on published price lists, official data, sector reports and, where relevant, figures from the Association of British Insurers, the Competition and Markets Authority and veterinary charities. We explain our method in how we research prices.
Sources. We link to the primary source of every significant figure so you can check it yourself. Where a figure is an estimate or a typical range rather than an exact price, we say so.
Clinical accuracy. Articles that touch on veterinary treatment are checked against veterinary sources and, where possible, reviewed by a qualified veterinary professional. See our medical review policy.
Updates. Prices change. We review our cost guides at least once a year, and sooner when there is a significant change such as a new regulation or a shift in market prices. Every article shows the date it was last updated.
Corrections. If you spot an error, email contact@vetcostguide.co.uk . We correct mistakes promptly and note significant corrections at the foot of the article.
AI use. We use software tools, including AI, to help with research and drafting. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a human before publication, and we take full responsibility for what is published.
What we don’t do. We do not diagnose animals, recommend specific treatment, or tell you which insurance policy to buy. See our disclaimer.
