Vet Cost Guide publishes information about costs, not clinical advice. Even so, our guides describe treatments, procedures and conditions, so accuracy matters.
Our standards
- Clinical statements are checked against veterinary sources, professional bodies and established veterinary charities.
- Guides covering treatments and emergencies are being submitted for review by qualified UK veterinary professionals. Where an article has been reviewed, the reviewer’s name and qualifications appear at the top of the page along with the review date.
- We do not describe drug dosages, and we do not tell owners how to treat an animal at home.
- Emergency content always tells readers to contact a vet immediately rather than to wait.
What this is not. Nothing on this site is a substitute for examination by a veterinary surgeon. Symptoms overlap between conditions, and only a vet who has examined your animal can diagnose it. If your pet is unwell, contact your own practice or an out-of-hours service.
